SSMR is a 501(c)(3) organization and continues to exist only through the many hours of work our volunteers provide and through the generous financial support of donors and grant organizations.

We usually have so many beautiful and worthy Mastiffs who need just the right family to share their lives with. Because these precious souls have already experienced the loss of at least one home in their lives, we wish for their adoptions to be their FOREVER homes.

Anyone who has shared their lives with a Mastiff will tell you that the joy and unconditional love a Mastiff shares with its family cannot be overstated.

When you have read the breed and health information links we have provided and have decided that adopting a rescue Mastiff is the right decision for your family, please read the 'Considerations before submitting an application'  on our navigation bar, then follow the link from there to fill out a family adoption questionnaire.  NOTE: If you are interested in adopting, do not wait until you see the 'right dog' on this site, but send in an application when you have made that decision.We will contact you as soon as possible after we have received your application and to begin the approval process.  Be aware that we will ask questions about your family and the environment in which the Mastiff will be living, and that a home visit will be done before the adoption is finalized.

SSMR charges an adoption fee of $350.00.  All Mastiffs accepted into the rescue system have had all routine vaccinations and have been examined by a veterinarian. All Mastiffs in the rescue system are spayed or neutered prior to adoption.  Mastiffs, as with any other pet, will require ongoing proper medical care, heartworm treatments, and other veterinary services.  For special needs animals flexible arrangements are made between SSMR and the adopting family.
