Southern States Mastiff Rescue Has Lost a Good Friend

On October 10, 2006, Christian Hermanspan, best friend and husband of Karen, our South Florida State Coordinator, passed away very suddenly.   Chris never met a stranger.  He was a personable, caring and hard working man – he was a very good man. Chris left behind a legacy of caring for his family and friends and even casual acquaintances. 

The world Chris left behind is a little sadder, but a better place as a result of Chris having been here. 

Chris was always a big supporter of mastiff rescue and of Karen’s efforts in mastiff rescue. He and Karen opened their home and hearts to more than a few mastiffs needing another chance for a better life.  Whether a mastiff lived in their home with them forever or was rescued by them and sent to another family – that mastiff was very fortunate indeed to have been loved and cared for by Chris and Karen. 

Karen asked that donations be made to either Southern States Mastiff Rescue or to the American Lung Association in lieu of flowers.
