Has has some problem in the rear which is being evaluated right now by a specialist.

Cochise is a  beautiful brindle male mastiff puppy of eleven months of age- whose owner is giving him up to rescue.

This is one very loving and sweet sweet sweet Mastiff...and he is very intelligent too.

Cochise began walking with an altered gait in the rear recently and was initially incorrectly diagnosed by his owner's vet with hip dysplasia. However he is being examined by a specialist now and so far we know that his hips are fine.

However his symptoms could be due to a partially torn ligament in his knee- which is unfortunately VERY common in active Mastiffs and may or may not require surgery. We will know soon what his diagnosis is and will be published here as soon as we do know.

Regardless of what is problem is, Cochise will be considered a special needs Mastiff at this time. He should not be adopted to anyone who has a lot of stairs in their home which he would have to climb- or who expects a very active Mastiff. He needs restricted activity while he recovers from this issue- whatever it is.
