My name is Gracie and I am a beautiful 2 year old apricot spayed female. I know you can't see my beautiful color in these pictures. My owner who loved me a lot and let me sleep in bed with her would have my top coat shaved so that I did not shed as much. It also feels cooler in the summer. But when it grows back I will be extra pretty.
In my two short years I have spent some of it not meeting as many people as I should have so I sometimes am slow to warm up but when I do I fall hard. My mom walked me alot so I am good on a leash and follow commands really well. I lived with small animals and just like human siblings we did sometimes fight over toys and attention.
Rescue is fostering me until I can find the right home since my moms life has changed and she can't keep me anymore.
I will do best with a home that understands that it will take some time for me to feel at home. The man will have to gain my confidence and I probably would like to be either the only dog or one other. I am intrigued by children but when they run and scream I watch but I don't know how to engage in play so I just usually stay at a distance.
I know that I have some baggage that my new home will need to understand but in the day I have been in foster I already have warmed up to my foster mom and tonight I looked her right in the face and sniffed her nose. I could tell she was happy that I trusted her enough to do that to her.
UPDATE after two days in foster care: Since Sat Gracie is comfortable running about. She has a lot more confidence in her abilities and has become so sweet to me that she nibbled my nose as I sat on the ground with her. She is evolving very quickly. I think I am falling in love with her.
