Holly is a
wonderful and loving 18 month old
Mastiff puppy girl was robbed of a real
'puppyhood' and SO richly deserves a
really wonderful life in a loving home.
Here is her story which is unfolding as
you read this. It is our hope that this
listing will touch the heart of her
soon-to be-new owner and that Holly will
soon be living the life of riley which
every Mastiff deserves.
A longtime
Mastiff rescue volunteer came across
this beautiful girl, tied by a log chain
in someone's yard- with no food or water
or shelter in 100 degree heat. Holly has
clearly been used for breeding and the
poor girl was starving and dehydrated-
you could count every rib in her body.
Still she maintained her dignity and
regal bearing and her tail gently
wagged, hopefully.
This
volunteer's heart was in her throat as
she knocked on the door and
offered to
purchase the dog from the owner- hoping
that she could save this beautiful
Mastiff from one more day of suffering
under those conditions. While her
owner initially refused to discuss
selling the dog to her later he called
her at the phone number she left with
him- and gave her a price at which she
could purchase the dog- and that is how
Holly's second chance began.
Thanks to
this wonderful and compassionate Mastiff
lover, Holly is now safe and is ready
for a new home where she will be
treasured as she deserves to be.
Holly is very loving and sweet- tolerant
and gentle as our breed is so well known
for. She is a lovely looking girl in
spite of all she has obviously endured-
seeking only to please you. Her eyes
speak of true devotion.
She is
getting along well with the other
Mastiffs in her rescuer's home right
now- so should be happy in a home with
other dogs we believe. She ignores the
cats in her foster home and so far has
been GREAT with the grandchildren of all
ages that come and go from her foster
home. In fact recently she sat
quietly (almost holding her breath)
while a cat used her back as a
scratching post!
