Well, when
Miss Olive came to Georgia, to her new home, she immediately
started checking out her new surroundings and her new family
members. She walked with her head down and didn't know what
the future was going to hold for her.
Her new
brother, a basset hound named Stimpy, was so excited when
she first walked through the door! Olive took one look
at him and decided it would be best to ignore him. She went
straight to the bedroom, where we had a big doggie bed
waiting for her and she refused to come out and socialize
with the rest of us.
Of course, we
were so concerned, so we all took turns and started to love
on her and feed her and just give her a feeling of safety.
Pretty soon she stared coming around.
She would not
only stretch out on her bed in the den, but on her brother's
bed too! Every time someone would go into the kitchen, she
would follow and expect a treat. In fact, now whenever she
gets up in the morning, she has to be fed right away, as if
she is the queen (which of course she is)!
And she must
go to the door and look outside to make sure there is
nothing going on that she needs to know about. Everyone
that meets her, loves her and treats her like she is a
celebrity! I think we have created a Diva, here.
But just the
other day she gave Stimpy a big kiss in the face. So even
though she has become our star, she doesn't forget to give
us love in return. Now Olive and Stimpy are the best of
friends. We all love her so much and feel truly blessed to
have her in our lives.
