Dear Erika/SSMR,

she cheats though.  i have to close the door, but she goes straight to my side!

Peaches New Forever Family

Meet Peaches- our newest SSMR rescue Mastiff., who was just rescued from an animal shelter. You can still see the suffering in her eyes in the last photo which was taken when she was brought into SSMR foster care- though she is safe now and life has been so much better for Peaches since that day!

Good food, lots of love will undoubtedly transform her into a very beautiful Mastiff in no time. Peaches' large frame is completely emaciated at 115 pounds. Note: Peaches has already gone from 115 lbs to 125 lbs in only a week of foster care! She is really blossoming with good food and love. Her hip bones and ribs jut out-  sadly it appears that Peaches has become used to living with the gnawing pains of hunger for some time now. You can see by the shaved areas that she has had her spay surgery recently- and is recovering from the surgery. She is tired and rests a lot- likes to steal the foster family's pomeranian's bed for some reason! She thinks she is a little lap dog!

In spite of how people have treated her- Peaches greets everyone like an old friend! She has been very sweet with the foster family's other dogs. So far she is showing classic Mastiff temperament. Peaches loves all people, dogs, cats and children and so far has been  a very low-maintenance and laid back Mastiff. The vet estimated her to be no older than 5 yrs of age. She has been brought up to date on vaccinations, is heartworm negative and is now at a safe haven finally- a caring SSMR foster home.

The vet who examined her says that has some mild arthritis and thought he picked up a heart murmur when he listened to her chest. With the quality care she is now receiving, the vet says that her heart should not be a problem to her health.

Updates will be posted Peaches when she has been with her foster family longer.
