Note: Since the time that this tribute to their beloved Sam was simultaneously printed in the SSMF Guardian and listed here on the rainbow bridge  in earlier this year, Dr.'s John & Lynn Parker recently also donated an SSMR Online auction purchase (also a donation!) in Sam's memory to the raffle for the MCOA specialty in 2012!  SSMR sends a huge thanks to our friends John & Lynn Parker for their support of Mastiff rescue and offer our sincere condolences on their loss.

Samson...aka 'Sam'
      Moose
By His Beloved Mom, Linda Croach       For Bud and Rhonda Rinekers & Lucy

Sam went through our rescue 1st when his family could no longer keep him.  We were the foster family for him at that time.  He went to a wonderful home and then they were transferred out of the country so Sam came back into the system.  We once again were able to foster him.  Well, Sam was the dog I would most love to have as my own so we inquired about adoption and were blessed to have him.  He crossed the rainbow bridge at the age of 8, quietly here at home.  I spent his last day with him. petting and loving him.  He died in the middle of the night and I am glad that I was able to be with him till the end.

Sam was the best of all things Mastiff!  A loving heart, true obedience, such unbridled love that left you glad to be around him.  He was the best foot warmer (if you didn’t mind squashed feet!) and he stayed by my side always.  I am so glad to have had Sam in my life!

While your time on earth was very short, your large paws left quite lasting marks.

How unfair your early days had been.

What joy you made for us with in. Spencer/ Moose you were loved!

However brief, you are still loved!

Merlin, rest well our friend.

Although you shared our life for only a short time, we were blessed to have had that time with you. Your noble bearing, quiet grace, unconditional love, and utter devotion enriched every day. We love you and miss you....

We were blessed to have "rescued" you and love you for 11 years, 2 months & 27 days, but even that didn't feel like long enough. You were with us through 1 marriage, 2 kids, 4 moves and Hurricane Katrina! We can't remember a day when you weren't in our lives, and it is so hard not to have you here now. You were our first "baby." We know you are in a better place, and able to walk and play again, but we miss being able to snuggle with and love you! We miss your fur, your soft ears, your big wet kisses and your goofiness, but we know you are up there with Robbie, watching over us and making sure we are OK. We love you so much! Until we meet again.... Goodnight, sweet dreams, we love you! May the angels watch over you and keep you safe!

BooBoo was our heart, he loved life and everyone he meet. Normally he would meet you with his big fluffy ball in his mouth.
We miss you so much big guy! There was only one Boo... you took a big part of our hearts with you.

Mulligan Chloe

Landondale’s Deerhollow Keeper       6/27/01 – 7/7/08

We just recently wished Mulligan a happy birthday, now we say goodbye to our very special boy.  I’ll repeat his birthday description:  He spent a few years as a great Therapy dog, a watchman for 'his girls', he has been a beloved friend to all.. both human and critter, a hill to climb over for little children, a greeter at our front door, a window screen remover when there were girls in heat ,  and many more wonderful things.   We have truly been blessed!   He is out of Ch Pegasus Deerhollow Thunder and Cameo Pearl of Canterbury (Thunder is owned and loved by Tonie and Jeremy Lansing in Florida... great friends who we will always be in debt to for trusting us with this very precious boy!!)As most dog lovers know, our hearts are broken because we will miss him so much.  Tonight, Doug cooked chicken and set it near the edge of the counter.  We both agreed it would have been gone had Mulligan been here.  J  We were sad that the chicken was untouched.

Thank you, sweet baby boy, for all the love you gave to the world, for treating us so good and being so great.  You have always been the very best ambassador of, not just your breed, but the whole animal kingdom!  Thank you for the footprints you left in our hearts.  You have spent your whole life as a truly GREAT dog.  We will miss you forever.
