TIGGER

Note: SSMR makes no warranties about any dog's temperament. We can only offer the observations of our foster families during the time that the dog has been in their care. While Mastiffs are often wonderful family dogs, SSMR advises that no matter how loving with children a dog has been observed to be, that each parent is solely responsible to ensure that at no time is a young child left unattended with a dog.

Tigger is  two year old neutered brindle male Mastiff who is a playful bundle of energy. He walks pretty well on a leash but needs loving but consistent reinforcement to remember that when he's being walked he is not allowed to give chase after cats.  He is responding well to his foster mom's "I'm in charge here" lessons. As lively as he is outside, his indoor manners are impeccable. He clearly forms strong attachments to his family and craves all the affection he can get.

This lovely boy is very protective of the home and will need a family who will help him understand that visitors are welcome. When visitors are not afraid of him he's very sweet, but if they show fear he becomes agitated and suspicious. His previous situation was with an owner who wanted him to appear unfriendly to strangers, but his sweet nature just couldn't be undone in spite of this encouragement. In the 2 weeks he's been in our foster home, his aggression has gone from" mild concern" to" not a problem".  He is very young and has probably largely forgotten about his previous life. Now his only concern is being close to his foster family .

Tigger is going to be a big boy. He weighs 130lbs. but is going to be 170-180 when he's at his final weight. If you are looking for a beautiful brindle Mastiff boy to share your life with, this gorgeous Mastiff home-boy will be the best friend you have ever had....
