For each animal adopted
a fee of $350 is required.
Depending on the age and condition of the dog this
may occasionally be reduced to assure the Mastiff is
placed in a proper home. The
Mastiffs that become available for adoption are Mastiffs that are referred to
SSMR by animal shelters, veterinarians, fire, police
and rescue personnel, families whose circumstances change, and through other
rescue organizations. Rescue Mastiffs typically range from two to six years of
age.

When a Mastiff enters SSMR
rescue, it receives medical care and necessary vaccinations. The Mastiff’s
temperament is evaluated and an attempt to learn about the history of the dog is
made.
All Mastiffs are neutered or spayed
PRIOR to placement in their new home.
Many times Mastiffs are just not readily available
for adoption. This is good news for us because it means that this wonderful
breed is being well-cared for. The bad news is your wait may be longer than you
had hoped. Your patience will ensure a good result.
Our Rescue System goal is to bring Mastiffs and families
together. Efforts are made to place the Mastiff with a family in the same
geographical area. This
keeps transportation costs to a minimum.
However, if
you are willing to pay for transportation to adopt from another area, you
could have a Mastiff in your home sooner than you think.

SSMR networks nationally with other similar organizations to provide
all Mastiffs a forever home.
SSMR is seeking permanent, loving homes where the
Mastiff will receive top quality care. These Mastiffs need a special place where
they will be appreciated as a companion dog and part of the family.
