| Dear SSMR, Bruce has just been wonderful and we couldn't have asked for a better
dog. He has a new best friend across the street named Blue who he
would play for hours with if we allowed him. They really play well
together and he is even great with Blue's new puppy brother who is
about 9 weeks old. He loves to play "keep away" with the kids out
back and has even sideswiped a few to the ground so much to a point
that now the kids just get right back up and say "i'm ok" and get
right back in the game.
Bruce has also been a great running partner and has recently
accomplished a 4 miler. He heals perfectly and never pulls on the
leash. He will only stop to sniff or go potty if I give him the
ok.
Last weekend we took Bruce to the waterfront.
It was obvious he had never seen a beach before as he
ran back and forth on it barking at the waves for about an hour.
He never went all the way in, but he sure did splash around a lot and
even got a few waves up his snout! He was a riot! He looked so
happy.
Although Bruce will never be able to replace our Gunner (which we would
never expect), he has surely filled a void in our hearts. Many
things he does and looks he gives reminds us of Gunner that he
just seems so meant to be ours. I have never met a dog who is so
appreciative and such a pleaser. Although he loves my hubby and the
kids he is truly my boy and is at my side at all times. Every time he looks
at me it's like he is thanking me for taking him into our home.
I will also add that he is a great watch dog too!
We will start our obedience class on February 6th and I am
confident we will finish at the top of our class....I already know
how gifted he is.
I just wanted to thank Karen his foster mom for allowing to have Bruce
be a part of our family.
Oh, we have also decided to keep his name Bruce.....he looks like a
Bruce and the name just grows on you! He's a Bruce!
Thanks again for everything. He is just wonderful! I included a few pics
too.
