Damon weighs 142 pounds now, and everyone who meets him falls in love with him. It's funny to see people's jaws drop when we tell him he isn't full grown and is small for the breed. I hope you and your family are doing well. We thank you again for allowing Damon to join our little family. Here is the write-up:

I truly believe that fate brought Damon into our lives. We met this wonderful giant through a chance meeting at a pet store. When we first met him you could tell he hadn’t had a fantastic life. At a little less than a year old he was already afraid of everyone and almost every thing. Although, through his fear you could see his gentle nature and all the love he had to share.

I sat down on the floor with him and loved him for a few hours. When he put his head in my lap, I knew it was meant to be. At the time we were waiting to close on our first house, but we put in an application anyway. Michael and Lonna preformed our home check the day after we moved into our house, and we were approved. They were nice enough to keep Damon for us so we could get a little settled, and Damon came to live with us two weeks later.


Damon was one very frightened guy when he first came to live with us. You could tell he had been treated very poorly by his first “owners”. He wouldn’t go through a door if someone was near the doorway. If you touched his back or reached over him, he would cower and sometimes even pee from fear.

In the six months he’s been with us, we’ve worked hard to show him that he is in a safe place now. He is still quite nervous of strangers, but when he’s home with Mom and Dad, he’s all tail wags and kisses.


After the joy Damon has brought to our lives, we decided to foster dogs and help bring joy to others. Damon seems to think that was a great idea, because now he has foster siblings to play with. He also has all sorts of new, safe human friends to play with. Thank you so much Lonna and Michael for letting Damon join our little family. We truly appreciate all you do for these gentle giants.
